We can size our band to suit your venue, the number of Guests and your Ceilidh needs.
We also can provide our own Disco along with any of the packages below.
For small and medium sized venues or hotel function suites we have an ideal solution with a Duo. This has a full sound and is very effective for an intimate setting. We can 'Call' all the dances from the floor with a radio microphone so no ceilidh dancing experience is needed. Flexibility of dances for all ages is also an option with the occasional slower paced ballroom dances such as a Waltz, a Slow foxtrot, a Quickstep, a romantic song or ballad as well as driving sets of Reels and Jigs.
For average sized venues such as Hotel function suites and village halls, we provide a Three piece band. Calling all the dances from the floor with a Radio Microphone and doing all the usual Ceilidh dances and some lesser known ones.
For larger venues and bigger crowds of 100 plus we recommend our four piece. Which does all of the above with a bigger sound.
If you really want a blow out full monty Ceilidh night and have a stage and a budget that can handle it, we can suit anything you want to go for in terms of band size. Get in touch with an idea of what you are looking for and we can come up with a bespoke package to suit your needs.
Performance Times
Our usual performance times we'd put on our contract for a wedding would be 8pm till midnight with a break during the evening buffet, during which time you may connect an iPod or play a CD on our CD player if you have some special music you'd like played.At some weddings with the best will in the world it is impossible to have the timings run correctly due to a number of reasons. Speeches can go on too long, meals take a long time to serve, guests are slow to move etc. If you have the band booked for an 8pm start and the meal runs over it can delay the start time for the band while a hotel still has to carry out a room turn around and the band may still have to set up the equipment. If this happens it doesn't mean that the because the start time was an hour late the band will play an hour longer. It is not possible to do this because of the terms of the hotel licence and nearby residents. It is also not fair on the band who might have been waiting for you to be ready for hours!
In most cases we'd recommend an afternoon set up if at all possible.
Often it is possible to set up the P.A. and lighting etc in the afternoon if there is space in the hotel. This looks more professional and saves a little time in the evening. (see our stage photos)
If you' d prefer all the gear set up in the afternoon please let us know as it does involve additional work and may involve some extra expense.
Ceilidh Disco Package
Due to popular demand we have recently started to offer our own Disco along with the band. We are also happy to work alongside any DJ you may have already hired independently.
Whether you choose to hire both your Ceilidh and Disco from us or have a dedicated DJ you prefer to use we are happy to assist you in either case.
Our Disco is played by Charlie Abel (me) the accordionist and comes at a discounted rate if you are hiring the band. I am happy to be left to my own devices or to play any specific tracks or play lists you require. I can make it up or follow orders as required. 'I can mix any playlist you give me!'
A typical Ceilidh Disco package would run as follows.
8pm Ceilidh Starts.
9.45pm Buffet being served - DJ plays background music.
10.30pm Ceilidh starts again.
12.00am Ceilidh finishes and DJ plays out the evening till 1am.
We are happy to play round any timings you might have as not every wedding night is the same. You may have other things planned. We've seen people arrive in Helicopters, Grand FIreworks displays, Pipe bands and Chinese Lanterns being released into the sky.
Ceremonial Music
As an additional extra we can also provide you with tasteful background ceremonial music during the afternoon service or in the church. An accordion and Fiddle duo perhaps or a three piece with the Bouzouki. We can combine our line up to suit your tastes.Tune Writing Service
We offer a Tune Writing Service. If you want to give your special someone a unique gift.We can give you a hand written copy of the tune, and a professional recording if needed.
You could even have the tune played at your wedding.
